Emma Stanley’s “Sneaky Louise” is a modern samba that balances lyricism with energy. A wonderful feature for trumpet or flugelhorn, the piece opens with a moody, memorable melody that weaves through punchy full-ensemble figures.
At Letter D, the chart opens into a solo section, a spin on a "minor blues" progression. Chord changes are provided for the entire ensemble, making this an opportunity to feature multiple improvisers if desired.
