Jenna Cave’s “Mrs Party Pants” was commissioned in memory of a friend's mother and celebrates living a life with joy and zest.

Inspired by the grooves of New Orleans funk, "Mrs Party Pants" is a funky chart that features subtle nods to Miles Davis' All Blues, a shared (or dueling) trombone solo, an extended guitar feature, and bluesy call-and-response writing throughout. Composed by Australian arranger Jenna Cave and published by Brava Jazz Publishing. 

The chart features a shared (or dueling) solo for two trombones and a guitar solo with building horn backgrounds that lasts almost to the very end of the chart. The piece embraces a bluesy harmonic language and call-and-response writing throughout.
