“Mr. V” is an energetic funk/rock piece for intermediate middle school or early high school composed by Camilla Vaitaitis. As the piece unfolds, the groovy back beat ventures in and out of a double-time rock feel, adding an additional burst of excitement and intensity. Featuring a fun 16 measure saxophone soli, a solo section over a simple dominant chord progression, and a thrilling ending, "Mr. V" is the perfect way to showcase a young jazz ensemble's enthusiasm and joy for the music.
