Christina Guala-Goodwin

Saxophonist | Vocalist | Composer | Educator

Since graduating with First Class Honours from the Elder Conservatorium of Music in 2016, Christina has established herself as a respected performer in Adelaide's music community. Performing on both saxophone and vocals, she has appeared across Australia, performed in Japan as a vocalist in 2019, and toured nationally with the Hilltop Hoods in 2022–23 as a saxophonist.

In 2019, Christina released her debut saxophone quartet album, It's Been a While, featuring her original compositions, arrangements, and soprano saxophone performances. She was the inaugural recipient of Creative Original Music Adelaide (COMA)'s Emerging Jazz Writers Award in 2020, leading to the release of her jazz octet EP What It Is.
She has since composed and arranged works for COMA, Women in Jazz Adelaide (WIJA), the Adelaide Festival Centre's International Jazz Day, Generations in Jazz, and ABODA South Australia.

A passionate educator, Christina has worked extensively across Adelaide directing ensembles and tutoring saxophone. She is Coordinator of the JazzSA Superbands Program, overseeing and mentoring emerging musicians. She also serves as Administrator for Creative Original Music Adelaide (COMA), supporting the development and presentation of original contemporary music.
