Described as 'Maria Schneider on steroids' by Jazz Times, Ayn Inserto is a groundbreaking jazz composer and Assistant Chair of Harmony and Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music. Her music has been performed worldwide at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Stadtgarten Köln. Inserto has been commissioned by the WDR Big Band, NYO Jazz Ensemble, and Jazz Education Network, and has collaborated with artists like Terri Lyne Carrington, Jim McNeely, and Linda May Han Oh. She arranged and orchestrated music for the Frankfurt Radio Big Band, conducting performances in Darmstadt and Frankfurt.

Inserto has led clinics and masterclasses at institutions including the Panama Jazz Festival, Sydney Conservatorium, and International College of Music in Malaysia. A mentor for the Women in Jazz Organization and member of the Jazz Education Network Board, Inserto’s Ayn Inserto Jazz Orchestra has released three acclaimed albums featuring guests like Bob Brookmeyer and Sean Jones. She continues to shape the future of jazz through her innovative compositions, mentorship, and leadership.
